Poor Audio Quality C225 C500
I recently bought Tapo C225 and C500 cameras. The audio quality of both cameras is poor, so I can't hear conversations clearly. They are much worse than my old TP-link cameras. I notice that the background noise level of the old cameras is high, but I can hear the conversations clearly. I think the issue of the new cameras is caused by the noise cancellation. But I can't find a way to disable the noise cancellation feature.
I read from another post that other users of C220 solved this issue with another firmware:

I would like to know where I can find the firmware to disable noise cancellation for C225 and C500. Thanks a lot!

@Solla-topee I just received my C225 and the audio quality is awful, too. I can't hear people well at all. Can I also get this new firmware? Thank you. I sent you a direct message!

@Solla-topee Hi Solia, Just purchased 2 x C225 and I've updated them to the latest firmware 1.0.11 Build 240826 Rel.62730. Hardware Version 2.0 The mic and associated recording is very poor. James
@Jamesh26 I have the same camera, same hardware version and firmware. The audio record is really poor even when the camera is close to the source of the sound. I have the camera less than 1 m from TV, but no sound is recorded. Only in case I really increase the sound level. Recording on the phone is much better even from 10 m. We have a dog, but instead of a dog barking, something like a knocking sound is heard. I can't imagine using the camera as a baby monitor. It would hardly record a crying baby. I agree that there is probably strong level of noise cancellation.

Hi,
The new firmware has been pushed to your camera, please update it via the Tapo app and check if it helps.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thank you. I just updated and I can tell something has changed, but there is still awful static-like crackling and popping sounds the whole time, but now louder. 😭

Hi,
Would you please send us a video showing the reported issue for further analysis, and describe how you record the video?
You can upload the video to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download it and send me(@Solla-topee) the link via a private message.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thank you. The new firmware sounds much much better. I noticed the audio codec was changed from G.711 to AAC. I don't know if this is the reason, but now I can clearly hear the voice and even music from TV.
Best regards.
