MicroSDcard seems to have abnormal expansion capacity
MicroSDcard seems to have abnormal expansion capacity

I am using sandisk 128gb xc1 card format with fat32 type.
I am facing an issue after the fw upgrade where the card has stopped working and tapo app shows an error saying MicroSD card seems to have abnormal expansion capacity. Card was working fine earlier.
I have tried everything that is discussed earlier in the community pages like hwtest, reformat, reinsert, even tried to format 32gb only but I have wasted enough time. I can see 256 placeholder files are created on the card but no recording.
I am of the opinion that there is definitely and issue with the FW.
Would appreciate any kind of help here.
Thanks

@Wayne-TP getting the same issue on my new Tapo cams with new name brand sd cards. 64gb and 128gb. Thinking of returning the cams since it's still writhing the 30 day period. Unless a solution is found.

Same situation here, same "abnormal" message, cannot format on camera (stops at ~70%).
The SD is pretty readable on win pc, H2testw finishes without errors.
My last installation (I've done some) consists of:
- 4 cameras, C325WB, C420S1 (with hub), C220, C110, all updated to latest fw.
- 4 PATRIOT PEF64GEP31MCX EP SERIES 64GB MICRO SDXC V30 A1 CLASS 10
All 4 worked flawless for about one month. Then C325WB and C420S1 "lost" the SD. But all files exist there (videos, index, log etc).
A dump from H2testw:
Warning: Only 57373 of 59024 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 11.6 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.9 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
The other two cameras (C220, C110) were working/storing ok.
I tried to pop out the SDs from the faulty, back in, resets, etc, no result.
Then I switched cards from faulty C325WB to C110. Results:
- The faulty SD from C325WB could not be formatted on C110.
- The working SD from C110 worked (so far) on C325WB (without formatting).
Nice job TP-Link! Looks like I need to go around my installations, checking and? replacing SDs? with what?

The above SD was the one inside C420S1 (in the hub). Small video files (low power device, battery + solar), all structure and files seems ok, but tapo app could not format it.
Then I tried the same type SD (PATRIOT PEF64GEP31MCX EP SERIES 64GB MICRO SDXC V30 A1 CLASS 10), that was inside the C325WB.
This one had a flat structure of folders, 135 video files (up to April 2) look and playback ok on win pc, then some .bin and .pic files, then 84 corrupted videos "xxxx" (they do not playback).
Windows display error when SD is inserted, but cannot fix it. Also, there is no way I can format it (quick or full).
Running the H2testw provided the following:
Warning: Only 656 of 59033 MByte tested.
The media is likely to be defective.
0 KByte OK (0 sectors)
656 MByte DATA LOST (1343488 sectors)
Details:0 KByte overwritten (0 sectors)
0 KByte slightly changed (< 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors)
656 MByte corrupted (1343488 sectors)
0 KByte aliased memory (0 sectors)
First error at offset: 0x0000000000000008
Expected: 0x0000000000000011
Found: 0x0000000000000000
H2testw version 1.3
Writing speed: 18.6 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.6 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
It is evident that C325WB killed the SD card.
