Kasa Smart 3-Outlet Power Strip KP303 Dead
Hi
I have a TP-Link Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Power Strip model KP303, it's only a few months old. It's only had a very small load connected to it running a small fish tank.
This morning I noticed the attached devices had lost power and the smart strip itself has stopped working.
Symptoms are:
- The white "Protected" light does light up.
- The white "SYS" light does not light up.
- None of the 3 outlets will switch on - pressing the on/off button next to each outlet doesn't do anything, and the white power LED's next to each outlet remain off.
- The 2x USB ports on the power strip are dead.
- The power strip no longer connects to my wireless network.
I have tried leaving the power strip unplugged for a couple of hours to see if it will reset, but no luck. It remains dead.
Anyone any ideas how to solve this?

May I know was there any thunder / light weather or power outage or firmware upgrade failure caused this issue?
You could try a different wall socket, if still the same issue,sorry to tell you it should be faulty, and it is recommend to contact the local retailer or local support to check warranty.

The weather has been normal. There have been no thunderstorms etc within the last few weeks.
I have 2 other working KP303 power strips which are both on firmware version 1.0.4 so I would expect the faulty strip should also be on version 1.0.4. I don't know how to manually update the firmware on them.
I bought them from Amazon, will double check exactly when I bought it for the warranty.

@davidg202 Hello,
If smart device still broadcasts default SSID or obtain IP address from router , we might have a way to update the firmware,if it is totally dead with no SSID broadcasting even after factory reset, I'm afraid it is defective on its hardware and need a replacement. I have submitted a support ticket via the TP-Link website to begin the RMA process.
I have confirmed from my router that the power strip is not connecting to my network. Nor is it broadcasting a default SSID.
I tried following the factory reset process by holding down the on/off buttons but nothing happens. It's dead.

@davidg202 I have 2 of these KP303 strips and just found out 1 of mine has this exact same issue. No SYS light and nothing will recover it.

@davidg202 I took my dead one apart and found a blown chip on the board. Quite blown I might add.....took a couple other components with it.
