I am willing to buy TP-Link HS110 to use with my boiler in the basement.

However, I would like to know if the power button can be used to turn the device on manually? It is important because my uncle is an elderly person and does not use a smartphone so I want to have an option to turn it on when nobody is at home.

Yes, the smart plug can be controlled via the Kasa app, Alexa/Google voice control, and you can also turn on or off the plug by manually press the power button on it.
