Tapo P100 power outage
I have a problem, I really like Tapo P100 and want to change my starting status.
My problem is that after a power outage, the p100 does not remember theprevious state and is always turned off.
How do I changeit ? Is there any setting for a power outage?

No other IoT device i have does not reconnect periodically as this one does.
Same problem here. It doesn't suit for a secondary home, as it does not try to reconnect to the wifi network automatically every N seconds. If no firmware update news is released soon, or I'll have to send them back and warn other people about this issue in amazon comments.

El mismo problema. No me sirve para una segunda residencia porque no intenta reconectar a la wifi de forma automática cada N segundos. Si no hay noticias sobre un firmware que resuelva esto en poco tiempo, tendré que devolverlos y pondré una reseña en amazon para avisar a la gente.

same issue it also disappear inside app with the latest firmware and need to re-add P100 again on wifi network as P100 blink green/orange
If power loss or wifi network issue the P100 should tru to recover the latest state.
pls fix this asap or its rather unusefull device and will send back to amazon with a bad review.

Hi,
I also prefer to add ability to restore state of the plug after the power outage. My case is: I want to control the power of the router and I need to turn on this plug automatically, because I can't do it manually. After power outage, the plug doesn't turn on even after schedules, if the plug doesn't have internet access, does still remember the schedules? What time would will have - the same before the power outage or some default?

Hi @Stella.Q, This is definitely a bug in the smart contact. Is this fix going to be implemented soon? At least to keep the last state of the smart contact before the power surge.

@devsoul No, it's not. Tech service told me that there's no plans about launching a new firmware fixing this. So, i returned my 4-pack 3 weeks ago and I'm going to buy a serious company's device, more expensive...

@Solla-topee No, that's not the default state as when I arrived the tapo were working and turning on and off as expected in the scheduled mode, but they didn't appeared on the app as connected/disconnected. Anyway, the default state to off shouldn't mean that they don't be able to be seen on the app as "off".
You lose all control the way it works now as you can't interact to put it ON remotely. The new firmware arrives too late for me. The devices were returned to Tapo 2 months ago. Several months without a firmware solution is not acceptable for any serious brand.

@Yer0 I reviewed your original problem description, and it seems that we are not on the same topic.
Tapo plug will try to connect to router (send ARP request ) and after network issue if Internet could recover in a short time, if it does not, it requires some further troubleshooting. Thank your for your previous support our products , we will keep an eye on similar feedback.

@Solla-topee The problem is when there is a power outgage and the router lasts 5 or 10 minutes to recover the WAN connection, the tapo devices are not connecting anymore to the backend, so you have no news from them since then. They should try to re-connect every 5 minutes for example, so when the WAN connection is available again, they appear in the tapo app and you can use them.

Will the new firmware be applied on Tapo P100 EU hardware version 1.0? I am asking because I have 6 of those that I am not using because of this bug of default state OFF.
