I have installed a tapo hub H200 and it says there is a firmware update 1.3.1 build 20240322 rel.61775. It seems to update but then the notification of new firmware update doesn't disappear and the firmware listed on the app is still the previous one. I am trying to install a doorbell camera but I can't do that without updating the firmware.

Are you on the initial configuration? Or is it a problem when you check for firmware updates manually?
If there is an SD card inserted in the hub, please remove the SD card and try again.

@SmartTapo hi I took out the SD card and connected hub by ethernet cable. This allowed me to update and then put SD cars back in. I find I have to permanently have the hub hard connected by ethernet cable to my router to keep it working
