Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 5.18.8.2

Hi Guys,

Go easy I have limited knowlage.  I have been running the Omada Mesh at my property (5acre) with the 610 and 650 outdoor units (1` is wired rest wireless) and a 620 in the house (wired) alongside the ER706W router.  All was running perfectly, all mac address's were named and I was having no issues.  Upgraded the devices to the latest firmware and then the Omada software controller asked me to update to 5.15.8.2 which I did.

Now I can see the devices in the site, but they wont adopt.  They are working as the internet and wireless network is running (except printer and TP Tapo hub cant be seen on the apps)... I have reset the 650 and 620 and they can be seen (wired them to the router) but wont adopt and operate in the mesh.

I have reset the firewall on the omada software controller incase there was an issue there, but still nothing is working.

I know something is wrong (setting I believe) but no idea what or why its failing.

Any help would be appreciated... I know I am a new person to this, but I have a fair amount of computer knowlage, but very little on Omada Mesh.

Thanks!!

Hi  @CraigPerth

Please make sure you have enabled Mesh option on the following page:

If that's not the case, please share a screenshot of the Device page, we would like to see the status of the devices.

  @Vincent-TP Hi Mate,

Mesh is (was already) active, ports in windows defender are open for TCP and UDP (thought that may have been an issue) turned off Macafee firewall and still no joy.  It was working fine before I upgraded the firmwares and the controller software... the one 5C is one I have reset (650) and I have the other 2 here beside me... disconneced laundry one is actually connected so not sure why thats saying disconnected....

  @CraigPerth

ports in windows defender are open for TCP and UDP (thought that may have been an issue) turned off Macafee firewall

>>>Which ports did you open? Maybe I forgot to mention, compared to old controllers, new Omada controllers had add two new ports 29815 and 29816  for management.

So you need to open ports 2981 - 29816.

Also, there may be some anti-virus software blocking the connection; please turn off all kinds of anti-virus software.

  @Vincent-TP

Hi I opened those TCP ports in Defender (both ports in one rule, normal speration by ,)

Restarted (I know technically you dont have to restart your PC, but hey)...

Same issue, it can see the EAP'S but wont adopt them, eventually it states the EAP isnt accepting or responding to adopt commands.

has be stuffed!

This error is caused by what I have said. See error 2 in the following guide:

What should I do when the Omada Controller (V4) fails to adopt the devices?

Please check if there is any anti-virus software running background. Or you can reboot the controller PC.

What's the IP address of the controller PC? Can you ping the EAP's IP addresses on the PC?

One more thing: if you run the Omada Controller in a Virtual Machine (VM), please open ports 29810 to 29816 by setting Port Forwarding to a NAT type network adapter, or setting the adapter type to Bridged.
