Network unable to dsicover the wifi access point
Hello
I bought the TP LINK AX 3000 Wi fi 6 Access point. Tp link omada eap 653. Initially I was able to access the default URL http://tplinkeap.net. I was able to
set a password to configure and add the SSID Tp-link 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz to my wifi network and was able to connect.
However after some days, it is not working anymore. I am unable to access and therefore I reset the device? But still am unable to access the default url.
I also downloaded the omada discovery tool for this model, but it is not able to detect the device.
The device is right next to my laptop and connected to my switch. I have internet and LAN.
Can you please assist. I have already registred a support case but am yet to get a reply. The hotline number is also not available.
Thanks a lot

Hi @Reynaud
If you are unable to login to the EAP's page, please refer to the following troubleshooting:
1. Make sure that you enter http://tplinkeap.net in the address bar.
2. Check if your client is connected to the EAP wirelessly.
3. Check if your wireless client is connected to the EAP which you want to configure. The default SSID of the EAP is printed on the product label at the bottom of the device.
4. Check if your client has got the IPv4 address from the DHCP server.
5. Check if your client can access the internet.
6. If the above suggestions did not resolve the issue, this is a detailed FAQ for more troubleshooting tips:

you have not said which firmware version you are using, but in any case always start troubleshooting of this type with the latest firmware version that is available.

Hello Thank you for your reply.
The LED is on. I do not know about Firmware as I explained the first time I connected it to my network, I was able to login into the device on the default URL indicated
on the device.
My laptop detects the two SSID's via wifi, just it is not accepting my password and I am unable to login to the default URL Since the password is not accepted and I am unable to
access the fault URL http://tplinkeap.net, I reset the device via the button reset. Still not working.
Therefore I also downloaded the Omada discovery tool to check if the network detects the MACID of the device to no avail.
If I cannot even detect the tool how should I install the firmware on the device ?
Thanks for your assistance.

Hi @Reynaud
No need for the discovery utility.
Is the EAP internet working? If the internet is working, you may use the Omada APP to manage it.
Details guides, please refer to this link:
How to configure basic wireless settings of my TP-Link EAP in Standalone mode?
If the Internet is not working, you may first troubleshoot the Internet issue:
The EAP is usually plug-and-play, if you get no internet access from the EAP, please firstly confirm the main Router is working fine. Then check the points below and see if it helps:
1. Ensure the EAP is hardwired to the router via an Ethernet LAN cable, use a standard CAT5 above cable for the connection. Usually, we can see a corresponding LED light up on the Router.
2. Test the EAP's SSID with other wireless clients, eliminate the issue is from a specific client.
3. Check the IP info on the wireless clients. To access the Internet, the clients need to get Default Gateway (Router) and DNS Server from your network through the EAP.
4. Unplug the EAP, and connect a PC instead to the Router with the same Ethernet cable, check the IP info obtained on the PC and confirm it can get internet access.
5. Reset the EAP: with the EAP powered on, use a pin to press and hold the reset hole for about 8 seconds until the LED flashes green-red-yellow to factory default settings.
6. Repeat step 1)-4) if you still get no Internet access from the EAP, this is a detailed FAQ for more troubleshooting tips:

Hello
After many attempts to reset, I was finally able to access the default url and configure.
I have set the static ip also.
Should I update the firmware ? I guess I do not need the discovery utility and controller utility.
Do you know how I can rename the network, for example instead of the wifi network appearing as TP-Link , can I set a new name ?
Thanks

Hi @Reynaud
Yes, you don't need the Discovery Utility or the controller.
You can update the firmware, or leave it, it doesn't matter.
