What appliance was connected to this smart plug? The smart plug is suitable for connecting resistive load devices within the maximum load range, and does not support high-power inductive loads, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, or washing machines. Click to download manuals of Tapo P100
Long-term use of an unsupported appliance can easily lead to hardware failures in the smart plug.
If the smart plug experiences this type of hardware failure while being used in accordance with the specifications, please reach out to the retailer or local support team for warranty assistance.

Hello Wayne-TP,
I was not able to find exclusions like the ones you mentioned in any of the documents available.
In the user manual and datasheet, the operating environment is specified (temperature and humidity), and exclusions are mentioned for healthcare environments/devices and power tools - but there are NO exclusions mentioned referring to the electrical properties of the connected devices! (apart from the maximum supported power consumption).
Please specify where such appliances like refridgerators or washing machines are excluded from the list of supported devices in the documents available for end users.
Apart from that, such limitations should be placed prominently in the product details on the TP-Link homepage and in shops like Amazon where these produtcs are for sale - so far, this information is not mentioned anywhere!

Which country are you located in and which version (device's hardware version) of user guide did you check? Please let me know and i'll report it to our relevant department to review it.
As I understand, due to the wide variety of electronic equipment, it is not possible to list all of them in the product parameter information, and, even for the same type of equipment, the type of load they use may also be different. On our website, the supported load types such as resistive loads, HP, led lights, are listed.
Your suggestion is recorded and will submitted to relevant team.
