I was not aware that the Deco would not accept being configured with an SSID because it detects that the SSID is already broadcasted by something else.  What was the exact error message?

I would power off the Archer and the two Deco to identify what is broadcasting that SSID.

Can any device actually connect to that ghost SSID?

The Deco can broadcast two SSID, one main SSID and one guest SSID.  Is the guest wifi disabled on the Deco?

The BSSID of a wifi access point is a unique identity of that access point.   If an access point broadcasts several SSID, it will do that with a single BSSID. That could help investigate which access point is broadcasting the ghost SSID.

Under Windows, you can see the BSSID of the connected access point via a command box, using command "netsh wlan show interfaces".

Under Android, an app like "Wifi monitor" will show you the BSSID of all broadcasting access points.

Hi again! And thanks for continuing to help me. Now, with the help of that app I found the culprit: One of my tange extenders.

I wasn't aware that these deviceskeep broadcasting the SSID they were set up with even after the main network has changed and they cannot connect to it. Which explainswhy I could log into that old Wifi but it didn't provide connection to the web.

And now I realize that it would have been necessary to unplug the extenders before doing the reset of the Deco, and I xould have set it up with the old SSID. Learning curve ....

Anyway: Without your explanations I wouldn't have thought of this and found it

So thanks again to you and best wishes!
