I have a TL-WR702N that I have successfully used as an access point in the past. I haven't used it for a couple of years, but I'd like to reconfigure it to Client mode to use to give a wired device wireless access. However, when I try to connect to IP address 192.168.0.254 in my web browser via ethernet cable, it can't connect. I have reset the unit and waited until it stops flashing, However, as soon as I plug the ethernet cable in it starts flashing again and I can't connect.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Problem solved. I had to switch my Ethernet port temporarily to a fixed IP address. I used 192.168.0.100, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, and used our old friend 192.168.0.254 as the Default Gateway.

This allowed me to get the login screen for the device and I was able to configure it. I had to switch back to Obtain an IP address automatically before I could access the internet.

Thanks to TPlink Tech support!
