Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.3 Build 20240628 rel.37017(5553)

It looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. The solution would be to assign a static IP address but since my AX55 is set as a satellite mesh device, there's no way to change those settings.

Now, we all know TP-Link devices make DNS requests to check itself for Internet connectivity, amazon, reddit, even linkedin etc, and since the AX55 is constantly renewing it's lease (around every 30 seconds) it seems to make those DNS requests a lot more often. Like over 10,000 within a 24 hour period. The DHCP issue is ridiculous and there should be an updated firmware to address it.

On a positive note, I am using it along with a BE230 as the Main Mesh device, it is set as an access point. Ethernet trunk haul is working great and if it wasn't for the DHCP issue, I would probably recommend this set up to others. But as it is, I'm thinking about returning the AX55. No wonder it was on sale.
