Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.0.0 0.9.1

I upgraded my xfinity internet service from 500Mbps to 800Mbps. I have a Motorola MB8611 modem and from there it goes to a TP-Link C3150 v2. I have my desktop directly wired to the TP-Link, all using CAT6a cables. When I run a speedtest I "only" get about 650Mbps down consistently (over the last 3 days, i.e. since I have the higher service). When I had the 500Mbps service I got about 550Mbps, i.e. a bit more than the advertised 500Mbps. Xfinity blames my modem but the MB8611 should be capable of 2gbps (I believe) so a LOT more than the 650Mbps I am getting. So I wonder if the TP-Link is limitting me.

bypass the router and connect the pc to the modem and check the speed.

When I connect the computer directly to my Motorola MB8611 modem I get a bit more than 800mbps. I also tried the Xfinity modem which gives me a little bit less, i.e. like 750mbps. However, when I go from the modems (both the Motorola and Xfinity) to the Archer C3150 and from there directly to the computer (no switch in between) I get just about 650mbps down (up is consistently at around 22mbps). So the 150mbps slowdown seems to happen when going through the Archer C3150. Can the C3150 not handle more than around 650mbps or why do I see this slowdown?

Assuming you are not using a vpn, that does not seem correct. Are you using IPv6 or using QoS?
You can try turning off any security. I would contact support and try to geta new unit.

Also try a different computer, disconnect any usb devices, and be sure to use the power adapter that came with the router.
