Model: Archer A7  
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20220714 rel.75573(5553)

I configured my A7 in access point mode and then noticed it was obtaining a DHCP ip address from the main router WAY too often. So, then went into LAN settings and assigned a static ip address.  But the A7 is STILL performing a DHCP way too often.  Seems like a bug to me:

I saw in other threads others mentioned they can solve this issue by assigning a static IP address for the router. You can check this thread.

 

Have you turned off the DHCP Server? Try changing it from Auto to Off, then confirm again.

  @Liverpool20 , yes, my original post stated I was using static ip address, and tp-link was STILL performing DHCP.

 

I solved to switching to a different vendor for that access point.
