Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: current

Howdy,

If I was to get a range extender to connect to my A7, would the ethernet port run the traffic from the RE to the router through that?

Or is the port meant for connecting something to it?

Thanks, Jon

  @dero,

By definition, a range extender works to forward the wireless signal by repeating it. To do what you are looking at, you will need to make sure that you purchase a device, range extender or other, that supports AP(Access Point Mode). If you take a look at the product page for the RE315, there is a designated panel stating that the Range Extender offers AP mode. As such though, our OneMesh System does not currently support an ethernet backhaul.
