Under Consideration Ethernet (wired) backhaul for OneMesh products
I really would like to see ethernet backhaul functionality for OneMesh products. Without this functionality the advantage of a OneMesh network don't outweigh the loss of backhaul quality, and thus overall network quality for me.
Unfortunately I didn't do my homework well enough, so I bought the Archer C7 router with the RE505X extender under the assumption I could create a OneMesh WiFi network with ethernet backhaul. In hindsight I probably wouldn't have bought these products.

@JP_NL same thing happened to me. and I just found out OneMesh products don't support ethernet backhaul, its really really sad as I wouldn't have purchased the products knowing that.
Why Even release a OneMesh Product with ethernet support ?? Makes no sense to me.
I hope they include this functionality eventually.

Well to be honest since they use openwrt as a firmware base you can just use openwrt to makr a mesh and bridge ethernet to create a wired backhaul with a7s or ç2s if tplink devs want to be lazy and drag there feet. Honestly if those devs were my lowers i would can them all and create a new dev team with motivation.

I just bought an Archer AX6000 and an RE605x and I'm very disappointed that I can't use a wired repeater with OneMesh.

@JP_NL you know what. I don't think they will ever bring the wired backhaul feature to OneMesh products because this disadvantage would force us buy their real mesh system products like the Deco S4 which supports wired backhaul. About 1 and half year ago, I ask them to add this feature to OneMesh but it is still unsupported now. So sad.

OMG this is so frustrating. scrapped by netgear nighhawk x10 with the x6s extender for the ax6000 with a AX1500 RE505X extender because online in various sites, the TP link support reps state that the re505x can be connected via wired backhaul. Companies done even try anymore these days.

Are there any news to that if OneMesh will ever have the feature for ethernet backhaul?
Not having this feature is frustrating me too, as I could have bought router and an extender from a different company and at the moment the extender is useless for me and keep staying in the box.

I would also like to see this functionality. It feels very silly to have the RE505X support OneMesh and have an ethernet port without being able to use both at the same time. I've chosen to use WiFi backhaul since the mesh behavior is more desireable, but ethernet would be much faster. I should also add that the description of the RE505X is confusing since it describes the "Built-In Access Point Mode" but doesn't clearly state that this is only as a separate AP and not as part of a OneMesh network.

I wanted to upgrade my AC WIFI (router + extender both tp-link)
The good part is that i saw that Onemesh dosn't suport Ethernet backhaul before to buy an 2x Archer AX73 , so i will choose other brand . i will not use deco because this mean i will need to buy 2 switch (is not energy eficient and also i need LAN conection on both rooms ) .
The bad part i was a tp-link fan until now and i will not wait to see if they will add this option on a new firmware
