Hi,
For some reason I :
a) don't get any notifications on my iPhone anymore
b) My NAS is now not connected to the internet. It is accessible via the home network, but is unable to access the internet outside of my home network.
can you tell me how to address these 2 issues please

What notifications were you referring to?
You want to check the IP and ports the NAS system is using. If the NAS was reachable from the internet then ports should have been forwarded. Look at those port forwarding rules to see if the IP on the NAS is now different from when the rules or originally created. If the port forwarding rules look the same, remove them then create them again.
