@Janio that is not the issue, DHCP server was disabled on the secondary router from the get go, and the IP is set manually (192.168.0.1 for main and 192.168.0.2 for secondary)

This seems like an awfully artificial limitation, where can I find a feature request form to express my view that there should be no reason to connect difference types of access points to a mesh...
