Hello all.

 

I have 4 camera's  (3xC520WS and 1x Tapo doorvideo).  With continues live viewing it stops after 5 minutes. First i had the app on my phone and i thought, well de camera's have a differrent wifi network then my phone. (have a guest wifi where only the camera's are on) so i read, it shoud be on the same wifi network.

Now i have a galaxy Tab with latest version app and only wifi network the tablet knows is the network created for only my cams. But now i still get the problem; you have watched 5 minutes. Do you want to continue with viewing. I have to click the button proceed and then i can view again.

Whats going wrong, is it a something in the device settings?

When i look at the wifi signal of the camera's they are all full wifi signal so that should be good but maybe the sign isnt so accurate?

 

Please i hope someone knows the answer because i bought the cams so i good  continues look at it if needed

In your case, please refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.
Why can't I view the live stream of the Tapo camera continuously?
 

Usually, you will see the "Do you want to continue with viewing" message when your phone streams the camera via our cloud server, and this may happen even if your phone and camera are connected to the same Wi-Fi network when the camera has internet connection.

If you want to force viewing the camera locally on your phone, an alternative solution is blocking the internet to the camera on your router, however, you will be unable to watch the camera remotely.
Or you can try to stream the camera via RTSP/Onvif connection locally with a third-party app: How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol

Hi,

 

I tryed first the reset etc but i got 1 camera on wired network and it worked instantly. So i think i have the other 2 camera's also on wired and hope then that they dont give the message anymore.

hello, i have read the instructions in the article you adviced and done wehat was i there but nothing helps. The only thing i think that can be is that the wifi is not sufficient enough. Althought the wifi signal shows fully green. Sometine i have read about RSSI but i dont know what is good. I figured out when i click on the wifisign on the camera i get a number RSSI. I see on my camera's that it is all diferent. I see -37 or -55 for instance but i dont know what is good.

Maybe i think put a cable in the camera and then see if it happens after 5 minutes??

Hi,
1. The larger the RSSI value, the better the signal. The signal strength of -37dBm is better than -55dBm. 

 

2. You can try a wired connection, but it may not work.
You can also try powering off the camera, waiting for 2 minutes, and powering it. Then connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi as the camera, login to the Tapo app, and check if you can watch the camera continuously.
