Model: TC82
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1

I have five Tapo cameras, all indoor so probably pixel motion detection and they have all worked great.

I just purchased the TC82 battery powered camera, which I believe uses PIR detection, apart from the picture quality I can honestly say it is the worse camera I have ever owned of any brand.

Detection is terrible, if it does detect a person, by the time it wakes up it only records them after they have gone by and then the play back speed jumps from normal to X2 or X3 in a juddering mess when I view the playback.

Constant false detections of 9 seconds, usually when I view the camera in the app, I always get two detection as the camera wakes up, two out of ten are genuine motion events.

The TC82 placed outside, my C210 inside looking out of the window with the same view, there's just no comparison. The C210 will capture and record the entire motion event, minutes long if the event last that long, the TC82 set to 120 seconds max record time captures partial parts of the event in 10-20 second recordings, it misses nearly all of the constant activity and fails to record any meaningful video.

Would it be possible in a future update to have this camera function as a wired outdoor camera, connected by the usb cable, awake all the time, bypassing the battery so it can at least be of some use.

PIR sensor in battery powered cameras that need to wake before recording are inferior in my opinion, the better option is a PIR floodlight and an indoor pixel motion sensor camera placed at a window set to day light mode.

Just my opinion, and yes I have tried every conceivable sensitivity senting, buffer, placement etc.
