Hello everyone,

 

I have a question regarding the tp-link tapo c410 kit. i would like to use this camera in a setup where it is not connected to any network. instead, i am wondering if it is possible to use it in hotspot mode to directly access and retrieve recording information (e.g., videos or images) without relying on an external wi-fi network.

 

if not, is there another model that can do this? any guidance or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, you can enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, set up the Tapo C410 with another phone, and connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi. After the camera is configured successfully, you can set up the detection and recording features and save the camera video recordings to the inserted SD card.


If you disable the hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, the camera's detection and recording feature will continue to work. However, you will be unable to watch/access the camera on the Tapo app, and all the features requiring the internet connection will no longer work, such as can't sync time with the NTP server.
