This Article Applies To
Tapo app Android users in Portugal
Description
Recently, we found that users in Portugal are encountering issues with downloading or updating Tapo app from Google Play Store. The download progress bar gets stuck with no progress and ultimately results in an "Unable to install Tapo App" error.
Our initial analysis indicates that this problem occurs when using internet service from ISP (internet service provider) NOS. Under the NOS network, there are problems downloading apps from other brands as well.
Workaround
We are currently in high-priority communication with this ISP. And according to the NOS forum, they've aware of this issue and are working on solving it.
If you encounter this issue, please try switching your mobile network to another ISP and then attempt to download or update the Tapo app again. For example, if your mobile SIM card is with this ISP, try connecting to a Wi-Fi network at home, work, or a café that is provided by a different ISP.
Solution
According to user feedback, ISP NOS has fixed this issue.
