Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.3.15

Hi all

I have TAPO C200 camera installed outside my main gate.We have Detection mode on and marked Detection View as Main entrance. We purchased it in 24-May-2024. Initially for 2 months it worked fine but later on it started many issues.

Below are the issue list.

1) Most of the time camera automatically turns towards ceiling and entrance part dint get captured. Most of time we cant make a use of camera due to auto detect of upside view.

2) When we notice and try to adjust it using app, many times it stopped coming to main entrance view saying 'tilt has reached to its max intent to this direction'. When we turn it left and right multiple times, then it get adjust to main entrance.which is weird.

3) Many times camera gets auto move towards ceiling and that camera movement also dint get captured in recordings. We don't know when and how it goes to upside view.

4) We tried to stop the Detection and keep it static for trial purpose but still sometime it still goes to upward ceiling view and stop there itself, which is again weird.

Kindly help in fixing the same.

Hi,
1. Usually, the camera won't pan & tilt automatically, please ensure your Tapo app is up to date, and you can refer to the instructions below to check if the camera settings are correct.
What Can I Do if My Pan & Tilt Camera Rotates Automatically?
Please let me know the specific test results if the above steps do not help in your situation.

2. On the Tapo app > Smart >Automation page, check if there are any automation entries used to pan/tilt your camera automatically. If yes, remove them for a try.

3. Have you tried to factory reset the camera and reconfigure it? If not, you can try it.

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

Thanks for your response.

I have checked below options as suggested.TapoLink App is upto date, Firmware is upto date, Patrolling is off.Smart Automation is off.

All settings are fine.

I haven't try for factory reset yet. Can you please let me know upon factory reset, will it delete all recording history also also?

I believe our camera is getting automatic turn during power cut, that's why it is not getting captured in recordings. In 1-2 instances we notice auto tilt towards ceiling.

Hi,
If the camera subscribes to the Tapo Care service and the detection video clips are stored on our cloud server, factory resetting the camera won't delete these video clips, but deleting your TP-Link account will.

If the camera stores video clips on an inserted SD card, it's recommended to remove the SD card from the camera, connect it to a PC via an SD card adapter, back up the video recordings on the PC, and then insert the SD card into the camera and factory reset it.

Best Regards
