Description
When the smart plug's device time is incorrect or there is an error in time synchronization, the time-related features such as schedule, timer, and away mode may display the following issues:
- The schedule does not take effect or delay.
- The schedule, timer, and away mode settings cannot be created or edited. Error messages such as "operation failed" and "network unstable" may occur.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure you are using the latest App and the Smart device has the latest firmware.
- Re-synchronize device time.
- Factory reset the smart device and re-add it to Tapo App. How to factory reset the Tapo smart plug
- Check whether the location and time zone of your mobile phone/tablet is correct.
- Change router DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
- Restart your router.
