Model: Tapo TC72
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

This is so annoying, why do all of my TC72 cameras have problems with their recordings? I placed them in different spots around a house and not a single one of them has an up-to-date recording.

So here's the variables:

1. There's no internet on the premises. The arrangement is to have someone come and take the local recordings every 2 weeks, dump them into a pc, and return the card.

2. The recordings are set to be 24/7.

3. All detection options are turned off.

4. The memory cards are all 256gb SanDisk Ultra A1 that were bought from the official distributor, so no way it's a fake.

5. They have problems LITERALLY everytime we check the recordings.

6. Camera 1 is turned off for 4-5 hours a day. Time/Date is screwed up since there's no internet, but that's fine, there's a clock within the shot that says which time it is.

7. Re-tested all memory cards and none of them are corrupted.

Problems:

Let's say it's April 23 today and memory card was initialized on April 9. For some reason, here are the recordings:

1. Camera 1 = April 9 - April 13

2. Camera 2 = April 9 - April 16

3. Camera 3 = April 9 FOR 5 HOURS. It only recorded for 5 hours and the rest of the 600+ recordings are temp files

This is so frustrating. Why can't this camera just do what it's supposed to? I was expecting all of them to have April 23 recordings until whatever it is they could fit. But not a single one of them has fully recorded to the latest date.

  @Maker

Hi,

To locate the issue, please help confirm the following information for further analysis.

1. On the camera's Device Settings>Storage & Recordings>microSD Card page, is the Loop Recording feature enabled?

Are the SD cards on your three cameras not full and there are no more video recordings to save?

2. When there are no videos to be saved to the SD card, does the Tapo app show that the status of the SD card is still Good?

1) If so, refer to the instructions below to collect the camera log for further analysis.

How to get the log of Tapo Camera?

2) If not, you can try to switch the SD card on the camera for a try if you have one.

Can you help test your SD status refer to the instructions below and send me a picture of the test result?

How to Verify Fake Micro SD Cards?

Best Regards

@Solla-topee

This is my 3rd time to check the contents of the video and it's STILL broken. I started on Apr 25 and it only recorded until Apr 27, it's May 2 now! The rest of the videos are just temp files again. I can't believe how much of a headache this camera has been.

I've enabled the log and mostly it was this error:

Where do I send the entire log?

1. Yes I turned on loop, did that since day 1

2. Yes, all 4 cameras (4 now since I opened another camera to see if I was extremely unlucky with the 3) have their memory cards declared as "good" inside the app.

3. And about the micro sd card, it's direct from the SanDisk Philippines. I even bought another Micro sd card from another physical store from the mall. And also used my SanDisk Extreme Pro from my GoPro. I've used both Crystal Disk and EaseUS Partition Master and they ALL passed. We're talking about 5 micro sd cards, 5 micro sd cards from different sources. It's literally impossible for ALL of them to be faulty, yet all of them weren't able to properly be recorded on.
