Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.3 Build 230228 Rel.79740n(4555)

I have just bought a new Tapo C200 (after previous one got offline and not connectable to WiFi after firmware upgrade to 1.3.11).

I have added the new camera successfully to my TapoApp - it was working fine.

Then I clicked on Upgrade firmware button in the TapoApp, did not touch neither camera, nor WiFi router, and the camera just went offline and does not turn on automatically as expected after the successful upgrade.

When clicking on the camera details, the version of firmware shows “1.3.3 Build 230228 Rel.79740n(4555)”

The same happened to the previous Tapo C200, and here are the steps that I did, but none of them helped, so I returned it back to the store and bought a new Tapo C200 (see issue above):

  1. I did try to wait for a week for it to recover, but it was still offline.
  2. Then I have unplugged it and plugged in again: no result - still offline.
  3. Then I deleted it in the TapoApp and tried adding it again, but it failed to connect to the perfectly working WiFi network to which it has been connected for the past 7 months.
  4. Then I have reset the camera by pressing it’s Reset button for 5 seconds, and repeat step 3 (tried to add it to TapoApp again): same result: cannot connect to the WiFi.
  5. I have submitted a request on the TP-Link Technical Support website, and got no reply (a week has passed by now).

Hi,
What's the LED status on your camera now? What's the MAC address of your camera? You can send me the MAC address via a private message.

Please try to turn off your camera and router, wait for 10 seconds, turn the router on first, then turn on the camera, and check if you can set up the camera successfully.

If not, please enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, use a different phone to set up the camera, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and then check if it can be configured successfully.

Best Regards

@Solla-topee LED status of the camera after resetting was blinking red and green.

The issue got solved after following the first advice: turning off WiFi and camera, turning on Wifi, turning on the camera, and installing latest version of TapoApp (v 3.1.502) on another phone - I was able to connect the camera to the Wifi.
