Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I'm a new user but managed to configure 2 c310 and got them updated and working. My tapo c500 is stuck in update mode. Green light has been flashing 24+ hours. Started just fine, configuration worked as expected, SD-card initiated and so on .. App said "update needed" or similar, so I clicked "update" and then I lost control of my camera.

Please, is there anyone who has an idea of what to do?

Pardon my french, English is not my native language.

Hi,
In this case, you can try to reboot the Tapo C500 and then check if it will work again.
If not, please remove it from the Tapo app, press the reset button for 10s to reset it to factory default settings, reconfigure it, and check if it will work fine.

Best Regards

@Solla-topee  Thank you for your quick response. Alas, deleting from app and reboot the c500 did not solve this problem.. Green LED-light is still flashing rapidly..

Hi,
Have you tried to press the reset button for 10s to reset the camera to factory default settings? Please let me know if the LED status changes when you reset it.
If yes, send me the LED status change process.

If not, you can refer to Case 3 in this thread to troubleshoot.

Best Regards

Hi,
It seems the Tapo C500 has an issue, you can contact the local support or retailer to get a replacement if your camera is under warranty.
Best Regards
