Hello everyone,

We are happy here to announce that we have now released a new official firmware for the Tapo C310 V1, which is 1.1.10 Build 210908 Rel.14707n. However, some customers might not see this firmware update available in their Tapo APP when checking for updates, this is because this official firmware is released gradually to all Tapo C310s. some will get the update now while others may need to wait longer.

We appreciate your patience while waiting for this release, you could do a manual upgrade to 1.1.10 beta firmware if you cannot wait any longer. Please be sure you have read The Beta Test Agreement before proceeding!

Hello everyone,

As Tapo C310 V1 newer firmware 1.1.10 and later firmware have been released,   it is recommend to update  the firmware on Tapo APP  directly for your camera.

Note: kindly note that Tapo device firmware are gradually released to Tapo users, not all in once, so you may find that some cameras receives an update while some camera doesn't, this is common.   It is recommended to wait for some time  like a some weeks before the firmware has been pushed to more Tapo cameras and update firmware  for camera later in the APP.

As the new firmware has been released for a certain time, this topic will be temporally locked.

For other feedback or observations, please Start a New Thread for your tapo camera and let us know.

@Solla-topee

Contrast is to dark on the new firmware.

Firmware 1.1.8

Firmware 1.1.10

How to downgrade firmware to previous version?

Firmware 1.1.8 has better night vision.

Two of my cameras with this firmware (1.1.10 - update through Tapo App) are now rubbish by night.

I have just updated to this latest software and now the camera has a solid red light and is offline. Tried to factory reset but does not respond, is there a way to manually revert back to old software?

@Adam111

I just updated to and got a solid LED. Reset does not work, and the camera is offline.

Looks like it's died.

Hello @MightyMike @Adam111

Thank you for your valuable feedback,  if you have tried a factory reset, but cameras still get a solid red, not flash amber and green, not broadcast default SSID Tapo Camera XX, it is suggested contacting retailer or local support to check warranty:

How to reset my Tapo camera

Both of mine have now updated to the latest firmware, and I can clearly see a downgrade in picture quality, especially if anything moves, like a person or cat etc walking in viewing area. They becomes very blocky, where before anything moving in frame was nice and clear. After seeing another comment about reduced night time viewing I compared the updated to one I recorded last month, and it also shows a drop in quality.

@Solla-topee

We also have a solid red light - offline - no response, since updating. Might updating manually with the beta file via SD card resolve the issue?

It is disappointing that a subset of user's cameras appear to be being bricked by this suggested update.

@Solla-topee

After the update the resolution have gone worse. Bad pixle and distortion on record.

Can I jump back one update?

Hi @R239587  A manual update does not help from some previous feedback if camera became dead after firmware update, I suggest contacting local support or retailer to get the unit replacement under warranty.

@Solla-topee Two of my three Tapo C310 are totally useless since last update! IR lights and red led are permanently on. I tried everything several times to reset both of them: no results! What can I do or try to get them working again?
