Smart Plug will not upgrade to newer firmware
Smart Plug will not upgrade to newer firmware
I have three Tapo P100 Smart Plugs. They are all Hardware Version 1.20.00 (purchased from Amazon). Two of the plugs work fine with Smart Actions, but the other will not.
Looking at the Firmware Versions on the devices, I see that the two that work with Smart Action have updated to 1.4.3 Build 20201127 Rel 60156. The one that doesn't work with Smart Actions is at Firmware Version 1.2.9 Build 20200813 Rel 43804.
When I try to configure Smart Actions with that device it says "Supported Firmware Coming Soon". My question is why is it "coming soon" and will not immediately update to the same firmware release as the other two fully functioning plugs? Is there any way to manually update the firmware?

Update:
Hi, the firmware of Tapo P100 V1.2 that supports smart action has been released (version number: 1.4.5), but only some users will receive push notifications.
If the firmware upgrade is not available, please manually check the firmware update in the APP and upgrade to the newest firmware. (Click Me>>Firmware Update)

Hi, thank you for your patience.
Have you tried to remove the plug from the APP and add it again to have a look?

Me Too, Encountered same case.
The one P105's firmware version is "1.3.0 Build 20201201 Rel. 54462".
And the other P105's firmware version is "1.2.0 Build 20200609 Rel. 33394", so tapped to check, but displayed "This firmware is latest.".
.

Since my original post I've purchase two more P100 plugs. In both cases, the latest version of firmware they will update to is 1.2.9 Build 20200813 Rel 43804.

The firmware for all four other P105 was 1.3.0 Build 20201201 Rel. 54462. Those are managed by another smartphone.
Has the latest firmware been hidden?
A mystery is not solved.

Hi, Sorry for the delay.
For the Tapo P100 V1.2, firmware 1.4.3 has been suspended for a while but the new firmware with smart action will be released soon.
Really sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks a lot for your understanding and support.
