Bandwidth consumption of Tp-link cloud camera NC230

1. Is there a way to turn the data cloud upload function of the camera on or off remotely?
I found out that very large bandwidth is consumed by the camera uploading data to the cloud even though I am logged on to the cloud.
2. In order to receive email when motion or sound is detected, is it necessary to have the camera registered to the cloud?
