Model: Tapo C425
Hardware Version: V16
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I have four Tapo C425 cameras. I successfully set up and upgraded the firmware on three of them. However, the fourth camera became unresponsive after the firmware update process.

Here’s what happened:

• I completed the initial setup.

• The app prompted me to update the firmware.

• After starting the update, the camera didn't connect through the app and I’ve been unable to reconnect to it since.

Troubleshooting steps I’ve tried:

• Pressed and held the reset button — no success.

• Formatted the SD card and copied a downloaded version of the firmware (renamed to factory_up_boot.bin) following these instructions — also didn’t work.

Current LED behavior (connected to power supply):

• Blinks slowly in red a few times

• Then one green blink

• Then quick red flashing

• Then returns to slow red blinking

Current LED behavior (not connected to power supply):

• Blinks slowly in red a few times

• Then one green blink

• Then returns to slow red blinking

Is there anything else I can try to recover this camera? I’d appreciate any guidance to help bring it back to working condition.

Thanks in advance,

Fabio

An update,

I got the camera to kinda connect to the wifi, it even show at the app (sometimes disappears), but when I try to access it, it doesn't load the images and the camera, I can not access the wifi settings.

Pressed and held the reset button, blinks the red led, but still does not reset

This is what I have from this camera in Tapo App, when it shows in the app, has the IP address but not the wifi Network, And the firmware its an older one.

Current LED behavior (connected to power supply):

• Solid green a few seconds

• Then two red blinks

• Then green (but sometimes keeps in red)

and this is the screenshots of 1 of the working cameras in the same network, with the firmware updated

Given the unusual condition of the device's lighting, and the situation that the camera cannot be reset successfully, it appears that there is no feasible way to restore it. I recommend reaching out to the retailer or local TP-Link support for warranty assistance.
