Model: Tapo D235
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.16

My tapo 235 keeps saying 'new sd car interest, initialize sd card' and then I can't see any of the recordings.

I will go and try a different sd card, but has anybody else had this problem?

The device is hardwired and (slowly) charging. It's set to reccord on detection with the sensitivity set highet (so not always on).

Earlier I saw the amount used go up in local storage, but now it seems to stay at 0mb even if I can see some clips.

update: having looked ait the sd card in a pc, it looks similar to issues others have had. the reccordings are there but there are also a bunch of video files on it starting with xxx that won't play.

update: the amount of storage used now does move, but that seems to lag behind actual files being stored.

What SD card do you use? Please check whether it is a supported type of the Tapo doorbell camera. What Type of MicroSD Card Does Tapo Camera Support?

Regular SD cards are typically designed for digital cameras and may not be suitable for continuous recording. They are not recommended for use with dash cams, home monitoring, or security systems.

  @Wayne-TP

I was using a fairly old 32GB Kingson (no sub brand name on it).

I have since switched to a 128GB Samsung Pro Endurance and that seems fine so far, although the card hasn't yet managed to fill of course.
