C100 -> home assistant issues

I have the Home assistant TP-link smart home intergration plugged in, it finds and authenticates my lightbulb fine, but my c100 throws this error "(Device IP) replied with status 500 after handshake, response: {"result":{"responses":[{"msg":"Check tapo tag failed", "error_code":-1}]}, "error_code":-1}"
now I tried changing the password to see if that helped, but it won't accept the new password (camera) now if I use the updated password I get this "Unable to authenticate: Device response did not match our challenge on ip 192.168.0.208, check that your e-mail and password (both case-sensitive) are correct." Yet if I type the old password I get the same result from the camera as mentioned in paragraph one.
In the Third-Party compatibility (Tapo Andoid app) I have enabled third-party compatability.
I hope someone can help this is driving me nuts

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported issue.
1. After you change the password of your TP-Link account, can you log in to the Tapo app with your new password to control the camera?
2. Please go to the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Device Info page to check if the camera has an IP address 192.168.0.208. If so, can you ping it from your Home Assistant?
3. Do you need to enter the TP-Link account & password or the camera account & password when establishing the connection on your Home Assistant?
Best Regards

1: yes I can connect from the app to the camera using the new password
2: yes the IP I gave is correct, as seen by Home Assistant, the App and also Advanced IP Scanner, yes I can ping the device with no issues
3: The device shows up as discovered, I put in the new credentials every time and I get this "Unable to authenticate: Device response did not match our challenge on ip 192.168.0.208, check that your e-mail and password (both case-sensitive) are correct." Yet the password is correct for logging in to the app and my main TP-Link account

Right I followed this to the letter, and I still get this " Unable to load valid image from still image URL (e.g. invalid host, URL or authentication failure). Review log for more info".
I am wondering however if it is because I've used an "!" in my password?
