Contact Sensor - Local Only
Doesn't work... when connected, it says "local only" and then tries to connect to a cloud service I do not wish to subscribe to. Does this model work without a cloud subscription? If so, how?
Many thanks

Hi @Nikkw14. I got a bit further when I left it trying to connect to the cloud server. It eventually told me to change my router DNS to 8.8.8.8. I am using a BT Smart Hub 2 and I don't think this allows you to change the DNS.
Actually I just checked it again just now to do a screen grab, but it has magically started working.
Sensor 1 did the same thing at first but appears to be working.

Check the following suggestions if your Tapo SubGHz device disconnects from the cloud and shows 'Local Only'.
1. Check whether the Tapo hub can be controlled (ring) remotely, such as when the phone uses cellular data. If the smart hub cannot be controlled remotely either, check the suggestions here in Case 2. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices
2. Reboot the smart device.
3. Reboot Tapo hub and router.
