Hello everyone

I'm palnning on buying a lava lamp and already thinking about upgrading it with a more powerful bulb. The point is that I'll need a socket dimmer to control the heat of the lamp, but I really want to use a smart socket to turn on and off my lamp by using my google home. Can i plug the lamp in the dimmer socket, and the dimmer socket in the smart socket ? Or will I lose any functionality ?
