New install on new phone. Cannot see SD Card recordings.
I have been using the Tapo App on an old phone for many months and all is working fine.
I just installed the Tapo App on a new phone and the installation was quick and easy. I was expecting to setup each of my 5 cameras again with all the detection zones, configurations and personal settings. But it setup all these instantly, and I did not have to do a thing, except enter my account name and password. I have not joined Tapo Care. I guess it got my configuration from my account at the TP-Link server in Sydney, Australia.
However, on my new phone, I cannot get accesses to the last 3 months of storage that are in the SD Cards on each of the cameras.
Clicking on dates with blue dots will not show the recordings. Any ideas on this issue please?

For some reason it has fixed itself. I can now see all recordings on the cards, In my account, About, the app is version 3.7.519. On the old phone it is 3.7.113 and has an old Android version that cannot be updated. I guess the new phone and app did an update check overnight.
Thank you

Hi,
On the camera's Playback & Download > Download page, it will display the pictures & video clips you download on this phone. If you change the phone, the files on the Download page will disappear.
Typically, it's recommended to download the pictures & video clips on the Download page, and then they will appear on your phone's Gallery, and then you can transfer them to your new phone if needed.
Note: if your phone has allowed storage permission to the Tapo app, the pictures & video clips on the Download page will be saved on the phone's Gallery automatically.

Hi,
The problem may be related to your Tapo app, please uninstall your Tapo app and reinstall the latest one(v3.7.519), then check if it will solve your issue.
If you are currently unable to install the Tapo app version 3.7.519, you can refer to the link to download the beta version and check if it helps.

I spoke too soon.
On the new phone, all the files in the download are missing. These were saved in the old phone at:
Internal storage\Android\data\com.tplink.iot\files\memory
Do I copy these across manually?

On the old phone, they were also saved at:
Internal storage\DCIM\Tapo
Internal storage\Android\data\com.tplink.iot\files\memory
There are about 70 files there in both and seem to be identical.
This did not work. I copied the files from both folders across via USB/Windows 10 machine from the old phone to the new phone. None of the photos or videos would show in the Tapo Download.
It does not matter now. I can view them via the new phone's File Manager.

Hi,
The images & videos downloaded on your old phone won't display on the Tapo app installed on the new phone even if you copied them to the new phone. However, you are correct that you can view them via the new phone's File Manager.
