Flawed page. Can't even get the keyboard up unless clicked in this box.

wall outlet, kp200. Power outage and it goes flashing orange/green and won't reconnect to the router. And the main reason I bought it was to automatically reboot the router once a week. That's the main flaw with Kasa and I see it complained about a lot. I'm partway into a Kasa buying spree for my remote location where I'll have all kinds of devices that I control from afar. They need to work. The area is prone to power failures.

Im away from this location for long periods of time and I need to be able to control devices and know they are working. They need to auto start back to where they were. If there is an answer, quickly, that fixes this issue I'll continue buying them. If not I'm warning everyone away from them until it's fixed.

The smart wall outlets, smart plugs and smart switched ABSOLUTELY NEED TO RECONNECT. Otherwise they are just dumb switch's that don't even work. I'll stick with them as at least they provide electricity once the power comes back on.

The blinking red and green light means that the switch is currently in setup mode, which looks like it's being reset. However, to reset the KP200, you need to press and hold one of the control buttons for at least 5s, a power outage does not usually cause this problem.

Can this problem be reproduced stably? Please conduct a test to check whether the switch will turn into a flashing orange-green light after a power outage and restoration.

Regarding the community web input, are you using a phone, tablet or computer? Can you specify where it is that the keyboard doesn't automatically pop up when you click on it? The input box for the body Content?

Thanks for the reply. I have since turned off the breaker to simulate a power failure then turned it back on. It worked a couple of times. When the power comes back on it needs to provide power to my router so it can re-establish the network and it did. After a few minutes everything was good again. Not sure why it didn't with the actual power failure. I have also set a program to shut it off at 5:00am followed with another one to turn it on again at 5:01am. I want this to happen once a month but once a week as per the program is fine. I am running it every day now to see if it's reliable.

As an aside I just set up 2 switches for a couple of fan/light assemblies. They seem to work great. They're outside on the deck and I'm programming them to come on a few minutes around dusk and possibly a few in the morning. This to keep the birds from using them as perches and crapping everywhere 😂.

Next is another wall outlet that has a POE switch controlling my cameras. They sometimes don't reconnect after a power failure but if I have someone go turn their power off and on again they can reconnect. Must be the order in which things reconnect. Anyways if they don't reconnect I hope to remotely cycle the POE switch to get them back online.

So you can see I really need that router to fire up properly. The reboot should be helpful too.

Thanks again

The switch's schedule function can continue to operate when the internet is down, unless there has been a power outage and the switch is unable to reconnect to the internet for time synchronization after power is restored.

As mentioned earlier, normal power outages generally do not reset smart devices. You may monitor your devices' performance further.
