Model: EAP610-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.6

I’m trying to connect EAP610-Outdoor wireless to my EAP610 (wired connected).

The AP shows up inside the controller for the adaption process.

During this process my both EAP610 are visible – I select the nearest as Link and confirm. This task runs, a minute changed to provisioning, the AP got his DHCP Address and is pingable. But only less for 30 Seconds until the controller send the configuration from my site:

09-25-2024 21:00:40.472 INFO [setMsgThreadPool-1] [] c.t.s.o.m.d.d.m.c.cR(): need clearConfigHistory when send full config, remove all component for omadac

Then device goes offline, led is flashing (long). device reset doesn’t help.

There is no firewall between. Any advice ?

Impossible to create a mesh connection. My EAP610 simply doesn't work.
I bought a new EAP653 today, connected it and as root ap - it immediately provided the MESH connection!

I have reset the EAP610-Outdoor and adapted it via cable, which works.

Latest FW [1.3.1 Build 20240828] update is done.

I have checked the function of the AP and cannot identify any problems.

Unfortunately, it is still not possible to add the AP as a mesh device.

The process is not completed as described.

Are there any options under the WLAN settings that are not supported in mesh mode?

I’m Using the latest Controller software [5.14.26.1] as docker container, all required ports are exposed as defined in the documentation: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3281/

Hi @4Bob

1. Make sure all your EAPs are running the newest firmware;

2. On main EAP610 Device->Config->Radio, choose channel 36 or 48 for the 5GHhz

  @Fae

Thanks for your advice.

All devices running on the latest firmware.

Tested both channels without luck :(

Is there any chance to get more logs from this task?

  @Fae

Let me briefly summarise what I have done so far:

- replaced the EAP610-Outdoor, no change

- use the suggested channels, no change

- changed the uplink AP, no change

Now I have tried the other way round and it works!

Wired the EAP610-Outdoor to one of my EAP610s as a mesh device.

So it's not my infrastructure, it's probably a bug in the FW.
