C200 stopped recording associated with motion detection
Hi,
I noticed yesterday that my cam is not recording the motion detection events as usual.
I have changed nothing in terms of settings or software and the SD card showing 'Good' in settings.
The Tapo app is up todate and the firmware is the latest.
Please let me know how to solve this issue.
N.B. : I can record manually within the live view.

From your description, the camera can detect the motion but no recording or the recording is incomplete, if you are willing to cooperate with us to continue troubleshooting, it's recommended to upgrade the firmware to 1.3.13 to reproduce the problem, and reply to me, I'll then escalate your case to the tech team for further analysis.

Hi,
I have sent a link to you via a private message, you can refer to the link to download the beta app and install it on your iPhone, then check if the motion detection feature will work fine.
If the problem remains, please enable the notification feature on the camera's Device Settings>Notifications page, and then check if you can receive a notification when a motion occurs in front of the camera. This is to check if the detection or the recording feature does not work.

Actually, the camera fails to detect motion most if the time. You can see from the screenshots that the two videos I recorded myself at 00:25 and 00:27 were not detected (see playback timeline) nor did I receive notifications for these events. Most events are missed entirely and the ones that are caught are only being recorded for 1:12mins for some reason.
After downgrading to 1.3.8 everything works as it should again.

The new firmware(v1.3.13) of the Tapo C200 V3 has added some new features such as "Added support to set separate activity zones for different detection types." and "Added support to customize sensitivity settings for Person Detection.", which may affect the detection feature in your usage scenario. (For the detailed changes on the new firmware, please refer to the link here.)
The detection feature has been tested to work fine in our lab, and if you are willing to cooperate with us to continue troubleshooting the problem on the firmware v1.3.13, please update the firmware to the new version, which is needed during the troubleshooting process, and then reply to me and I'll escalate your case soon.
