  @Fae

ER605 is not assigning IP addresses to Ethernet connected devices (except the one I log connected with).
- The router is NOT connected to the internet and I don't want it to be - LAN only for a while yet.
- After no initial DHCP assignment, I enabled UPnP.  Otherwise, still on the defaults.

Still no success.

Hardware Version: ER605 v1.0

I started with Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20210723 Rel.64608 but after wasting time, I updated to Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20220512 Rel.76748.

Router still not useful for anything.

A bit irrelevant but... I have not tried using static IP addresses as that is a lot of trouble to go around and get all of the MAC addresses.  I do however plan on making the DHCP IP addresses static after they are assigned.  Like I said ... this is not that important now.

I read the post that said the Firmware Version: 1.2.1 is the culprit (https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/542294) but I was having this issue with the original firmware.

Solutions?  I sure could use a router that works here.

  @Fae Same issue happening only with Windows computers in my case. I happens with 1 win10 laptop, 1 win11 laptop and 1 win10 pc. Happens randomly every 2-3 days.

All other devices don't have this issue. (android phones, tvs, IoT devices). Also other Omada components from the system didn't suffer from this.

Tried with ER605(UN)_v1_1.2.2_Build 20220902 (Beta)  and happens less times, but still a couple per week. Fast solution, assign fixed IP address out of DHCP range.

2 Main issues found:

  • Duplicated IP address in the network.
  • Assign address out of the network. Assigns this IP address in a network that I've never configured in Omada nor the laptops/computer. 169.254.118.x

@Fae - This has been my experience as well. After factory resetting all Omada devices and reconfiguring the network I am still experiencing DHCP issues, even with this beta firmware (ER605 v1 - 1.2.2 - 20220902). Devices connect, though the IP's being assigned are in use by other devices on the network. Windows devices fallback to a self-assigned IP (169.254.x.x), and Mac devices present an IP conflict error. I am also experiencing issues with Smart TV's and wearables on my network. The issues seem reduced with this firmware, though still persist even after changing the LAN DHCP range (IPv4). Using a random device MAC address appears to initially resolve the concern, though the issues return and this temporary workaround is not available for all devices.

  @Fae

Thanks Fae

Ill update all three of my routers later today and will feedback if i find anything

Might i suggest a bit of a tidy uip of the frst post?  Also potentially renaming the thread to something like "Current Beta - ER605 / 7206"  as it seems to be the place the currents releases go now

Note this firmware does not appear to support the newer features of the 5.6.x controller, for example "The gateway does not support mDNS" is shown when you attempt to enable it.

  @Fae

Updated both my 605s and my 7206

All good so far, the horrible CPU utilisation bug that we reported with the removed Sept 18th beta is definitely not present, so thats good.  Tested all my VPNs and basic DHCP and no issues to report so far

Sad to see the beta "wallpaper" is back on the 7206, was nice not having it there on the last beta releases

I do have a question though - will the 605v1 / 7206 ever get the updated IKEv2 protocols like the 605v2 has ?  (SHA2-AES256-DH16 for example)
