Can the Tapo C310 operate in a standalone (without Wifi route) mode using Wifi direct or by acting as its own Wifi access point ?
Looking for a camera that could operate in a field or in a caravan etc. where there is no Wifi router.

I'm afraid Tapo camera can't work alone by itself, it needs to connect to a Wi-Fi router. If you want camera work local only, camera need finish the initial set up first in the APP (internet access required during setup), then mobile under the same local Wi-Fi to access camera.
