Model: Tapo RV30 Max Plus
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 250122 Rel.140327 / 0.0.5.1856-1.4.46

Hello Support,

I thought the issue from the ticket

https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/720836

had been resolved, as it did not occur in January or February.

However, it has recently reappeared. The symptoms are as follows:

When the mop is installed, the robot vacuum eventually loses its orientation.

This means it moves around aimlessly and sometimes collides with walls—often at high speed—even though they are properly mapped.

When checking the report, it appears as if the vacuum moves into areas it physically cannot reach, such as inside cabinets.

If the issue occurs, the robot also can no longer find the charging station.

If the mop is removed, everything works fine again.

I believe this issue was resolved by the end of 2024, but it has now returned.

Best regards from Bremen,

Nils Bödeker

Is the mop cloth clean? Try to replace a dry and clean mop cloth.

@Wayne-TP I took an having this exact same issue where the mop is installed and it is making irrational movements and not following a grid pattern.

This was all happening with a clean mop and basically started to do this a few minutes in acting like it was stuck but it was on flat level ground. It would also start doing patterns as if there was a table leg in the way trying to circle the table leg but there was no object in the way.

Hello,

I have tested this now. When I use a dry mop, the first run goes quite well.

However, during the second run, the robot vacuum loses its orientation.

If I stop and restart, it turns into complete chaos.

I usually select the maximum moisture setting and have it go over the area three times.

It also seems to be related to the fact that problems arise when the mop is wet.

Although, it should be obvious that the mop is wet in mopping mode.

This issue has been occurring for the past 2–3 weeks. Before that, everything worked fine.

I suspect a software problem.

Can you help with this?

Best regards,

Nils Bödeker

To me, this is more look like a hardware issue, something to do with the wheels. I would recommend getting a replacement first, you may proceed with the warranty with the retailer or the local TP-Link support

Which model do you have? Check whether the sensor area is dirty, clean it before sending it out.
