Model: Tapo P110
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have just bought a Tapo P110 smart plug to turn off dehumidifier when my heat/humidity sensor reaches a certain level in my bedroom. i.e when the humidity drops below 60% I want it to switch off the dehumidifier that is plugged into the Tapo P110 smart plug. I have both Kasa and Tapo apps installed on my smart phone.. The Kasa App monitors my smart radiator valvles. Any help will be appreciated.

Please note that the smart plug only controls the power supply of the appliance. If the appliance is not plug-and-play, it cannot 'actually' be turned on (for use) by the smart plug.

@Wayne-TP I understand that Wayne. The appliance I am referring to is a Meaco Dehumidifier. Currently I have the plug programmed to turn the Meaco on at 8am and turn off at 5pm. What I want the sensor to do is when the humidity level drops to below 55% to send a signal to the smart plug to switch off. Then if the humidity rises to 60%, to switch the smart plug back on.

Assuming it can do that I will delete the schedule currently running off. Then have the smart plug only being controlled by the humidity level sensed by the sensor.

Looking at my Tapo app I can see that it has an Auto-Humidity Control. There it asks you to select a Temperature/Humidity device, the sensor you wish to use. Currently it shows my other two sensors, one in the bedroom and the other in my living room. When I get the new sensor (Tapo T310) arriving today, I will set this up in my study to control the smart plug there that my MeacoDry ABC Dehumidifier, which is currently being controlled schedule on the smart plug, using the smart action control covering Humidity Detected Action.
