Description
Tapo robot vacuum reports Battery Error or Error 1 through voice prompt or in the Tapo app, and the machine fails to recharge when connected to the dock.
"Error 1: Battery Error" usually appears when the battery temperature is too high or too low. Please wait until the battery temperature changes to 0℃- 40℃ (32℉-104℉). If you're not in this case, refer to the suggestions below.
Troubleshooting Suggestions
1. Reboot the robot vacuum.
- RV20/30 Max Series: Press down the Power button for 3 seconds to turn on OR off the robot vacuum.
- Other Tapo robot vacuum: Restart Tapo robot vacuum with its side ON/OFF button.

2. Update firmware on the robot vacuum.
How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App
*For Tapo RV30 series, make sure the Tapo robot vacuum is on firmware 1.2.2 and newer versions.

What to do if the above suggestions don't work?
- For the RV30 series: Contact local TP-Link support or retailer to proceed with the warranty.
- For other Tapo robot vacuums: Provide the following information to @Wayne-TP through private message for further follow-up.
- Device model, hardware, and firmware version. Enter the Vacuums tab in the Tapo app > Smart Cleaning > click the three dots button on the upper right corner, go to Settings > tap the model to check device's info.
- Mac address of the Tapo robot vacuum.
