Tapo C510W Camera Connects to the Farthest Freebox Mesh Repeater

Hi,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Tapo C510W camera in a Wi-Fi mesh network configured with a Freebox Ultra and its official repeater. Despite the mesh setup, the camera consistently connects to the farthest repeater, even when a closer repeater with a stronger and more stable signal is available. I have one Freebox and two official repeaters in this setup.
Here are the details:
- The network is set up in mesh mode using a Freebox Ultra and one of its official mesh-compatible repeaters.
- The camera initially connects to the closer repeater (after a restart of this repeater), but eventually switches back to the farther one, resulting in poor connection quality and intermittent video stream.
- Signal strength is reported as good, but the camera struggles to maintain a consistent connection.
- Other devices in the same area connect correctly to the nearest repeater without issues (laptop, smartphones).
What I’ve tried so far:
- Restarting, reinitializing the camera and the repeater.
- Disabling the farther repeater temporarily to force the camera to connect to the closer one. This works initially, but the issue reappears when the farther repeater is turned back on.
- Checking the Wi-Fi settings on the Freebox and ensuring the camera is on the 2.4 GHz band.
Questions:
- Is there a way to "lock" the camera to a specific repeater in a mesh network?
- Could this behavior be due to how the Tapo C510W prioritizes access points?
- Any suggestions to improve this situation or debug the camera's connection behavior?
Thank you for your help!
