Hi,

I'm setting up a new home network. 1 have 2 x TP AEP610 APs hard wired to my switch (TL-SG1016PE) which is connected to my Xfinity hub |(latest version).

In this standard pug-n-play setup, it all works - I have my own wifi network via the APs but I also have the Xfinity hub broadcasting its own wifi, which I want to switch off.

My understanding is that I put the Xfinity hub into Bridge Mode which turns off the wifi. When I do this, my TP network loses internet connectivity.

I've tried fixing the IP addresses of the switch and APs, just the switch but no joy - what am I missing/ doing wrong?

EAP are access points; they can't assign IP addresses to the clients since they are not DHCP servers.

We need a DHCP server in a network. And normally, router is the DHCP server.

Changing the router to bridge mode had turned off the DHCP server function.

You need to change it back to router mode.

If you don't want the router's wifi, you can disable the WiFi broadcast, if it supports.

If the router can't do this, you can set the SSID and password totally the same as the EAP's; With this config, there will only be one SSID displayed on wifi list.
