Hi, I'm not really familiar with VPN settings, I'm trying to set up an R600VPN to be used for (probably a) PPTP VPN connection from my tablet or smartphone when I'm on open wifi connections.
I should then be able to browse the internet via the VPN and with my home IP.

I bought this R600VPN, because I read somewhere that it could do the job :) it probably can, but clearly I can't ;-)

My ISP modem is for a 500Mb fiber connection, which should stay in place.
The R600VPN is connected to that modem via LAN only, at the moment, and has a static IP, which is in the same range as DHCP from the ISP modem.

I can't get it to work, I believe the biggest issue is that the R600VPN can not find the internet.
I can log on to the R600VPN and change what I want, but I can't get it to work.

Is there someone out there that is able to help me fix the settings?

Is that your topology like this "600VPN---ISP Modem---Internet"? You set an static IP which is in the same range of the modem for 600VPN. Have you ever PING from the LAN of 600VPN to the ISP Modem WAN?
Or did you try to connect the device to 600VPN to see the router can work? What's more, you can reset the router before you do the test.

My 600VPN has a static IP 192.168.2.240, I can ping netwerk IP's
I can set up a PPTP VPN connection internal, on the lan, from smartphone to the 600VPN, that works, but then there is no internet connection.

If I can get that to work, then placing it in the DMZ might be enough to connect it from the internet.

I'm not sure if my previous reply failed or if it's not moderated yet.
The topology is correct
I can even set up a VPN tunnel, internally, from my smartphone on wifi to the VPN server. But then there's no internet connection.

Do I need to connect both WAN and LAN cables (both to the IPS router?)
For WAN, do I need to set the external IP as static?
PPTP IP range is in the same range as the ISP dhcp for the LAN
DHCP for the VPN Router is also in the same range as the LAN IP and ON
(they do not overlap)

Amazing ...... what ever I tried I couldn't get it to work .... So today I did a hard reset and re-did the configuration.
It works like a charm now !
Thanks anyway !!
