I have a Raspberry Pi 5.  How can I host a controller on my Pi?  Where do I download the resources to install in my Pi5?

Hi,

1. Omada may require some RAM capacity, make sure you have enough of memeory or create bigger (than usual) SWAP partition. I was using RPi 4B with 1Gb RAM and it was waaaaaay not enough. I believe Omada alone can utilize up to 2Gb of memory.

2. You can just simply use standard Raspberry Pi OS image (if you are not planning to use GUI but SSH only then I recommend the lite OS version)

3. Once you are done with above, you have 2 ways of working:

A) You can install Omaga directly on Raspberry Pi, then whole RPi becomes a controller itself. Here's whole topic about that: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/528450

B) You can install DOCKER on your Raspberry Pi and run the Omada Controller in dedicated container (thanks to that you may use your Raspberry Pi for other purpouses at the same time) - that's how I approched that. You will find a lot of guides and How-To on the net. With that way of working i highly recomment MBENTLEY's images and his compose file - you will find it on GitHub. He's an active member of this forum as well consantly discussing with TP-Link guys any potential/new issues with the controller in docker mode.
