Hi all,

The ER605 router acts as the only DHCP server on network. Software controller (5.14.32.3) is running all the time.

I've observed following:

  • the Clients list on Controller doesn't contain all clients - doesn't matter if they have static IP or DHCP assigned one (by router itself)
  • Controller reports 49 clients
  • nmap ping scan reports 69 hosts on my network (including router), where 28 are from DHCP range
  • Clients list on Controller displays only 23 of the 28 active clients from DHCP range - 5 are missing
  • tried to look into router itself via SNMP - in OID ".iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.ip.ipNetToMediaTable.ipNetToMediaEntry.ipNetToMediaNetAddress.24.192.168.*" I can find only 28 entries - only 16 are from DHCP range and rest are static IPs

can someone explain me those discrepancies in numbers and why are some of active DCHP devices missing on any list?

and what's funny, number of records via SNMP equals to active clients from DHCP range (detected via nmap) - but the records are mixed DHCP/static....

someone wrote here, that there are delays between real client number and number displayed in Controller (which is understandable), but I've assumed that SNMP values red from router directly should be valid at all time - what apparently isn't....
