Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.1 Build 20230115 Rel.77774

Last night I have updated the router to the new firmware. As every night I am running the AI optimization for the wifi and with that all my clients get a new DHCP lease for the reconnect. It seems that several devices did not return and most of them are still not willing to get a new IP address. All of them are connected via WiFi all of them seem to be low power devices (Computer and Phones seem to work, but all the IoT stuff did not return). Forcing the devices to reconnect does not help.

I will try to reset the router tonight and hope it will help but will have to revert Firmware elseway.

Dear @modebm,

I'd like to update the post with a solution here.

TP-Link has released the official firmware 2.1.2 to fix the DHCP issues.

ER605 V2_2.1.2 Official Firmware (Released on Feb 14th, 2023)

You may take your time to upgrade the 2.1.2 firmware and confirm the DHCP issue you encountered has been resolved.

Addenum: It seems that issuing new leases is very slow. I just had a computer to receive a new lease and it took about 20 seconds until the lease was given.

Setup:

Router: ER605

Core Switch: SG3210

Access Switches: SG2008P

APs: EAP653

EDIT: reverted back to 2.0.2_20220727. All back to normal.

Last night my ER605 crashed with the old "known good" F/W. It took me about an hour to see it respond to anything again (making it powerless to deplete the caps). I took the chance after that to check the new firmware. It took me another hour to get the setup running again - late at night, my fiance and I we have to work today and are dependent on a working professional network. This morning I woke up and the my devices lost their leases again. My computer again took about 20 second to retrieve its lease.

I don't have an unusual setup, apart from about 50 fixed IP addresses set in the DHCP.

For now I have reverted the firmware again, but I have lost faith in your system. A not working firmware is one thing, but a router that is not working stable is another. This little thing crashed 3 times since September and this time it was a hell of work to make it working again. And no response in my thread here doesn't help either. I have slept 4 hours and I am in an important business project. This is a no go!

Dear @modebm,

Sorry for the late reply, now I realized that giving a simple reply saying that we have noticed the issue would be better than nothing. Thanks for your valuable feedback. I'll try and do that next time.

For the DHCP issue you reported, we'll try the best to figure out the issue and resolve it as soon as possible. If it doesn't bother you and your Omada setup hasn't been removed yet, it would be much appreciated if you can try to provide the running backup configuration file and your IoT devices info like model number to our support team in the ticket email TKID230203209.

Sorry again for any trouble caused. Thank you in advance for your great cooperation and patience!
